Sears's regt.; mustered July 21, 1781; discharged Nov. 2, 1781; service, 3 mos. 12 days, under Brig. Gen. Stark; regiment raised in Berkshire Co. and stationed at Fort Plains, Tryon Co.; order for payment of amount of roll dated at Stockbridge and signed by Capt. Marsh.

Laureen Bostedt says:" I'm pretty sure he is the Son of George and Mary (Campbell) Sloan. I follow William through a son George b. ca. 1782 in Otsego Co. NY.. George appears in Dearborn Co. Indiana very early. I have William's Rev. War papers that say he went to live with a son in Indiana but does not name the son. William had a brother called George as well as his father named George. It sounds like William did have a son George but I can't prove it! Then I follow down from this George, to my mother."
