It is a possibily that Fergus Sloan might be a brother of the Elizabeth Sloane that was married to Samuel Snoddy. They are the same age and lived in the same 4th Creek Congreation area. Elizabeth did name a son Fergus. {f.e.m.}

Pioneer Certificate Abstracts Pioneer Fergus Sloan (Sr.) was born in 1724, moved into the Iredell area on 27 August 1751, and died in Lincoln county, N. C. in 1812. He was married to Ann Elizabeth Robinson, who was born in 1723 and died in Iredell Co. NC. Children: Elizabeth (1750-1831) mar. Thomas Hall; William (1753-1827) mar. Jane Stevenson; Ann (1759 - )mar. Mussendine Matthews; Margaret (1763 -) mar William Harris; Robert (1767 -) mar. Martha Harris; Fergus (1770 -) mar. Prudence King.
