  • Birth: 23 APR 1834 1
  • Death: 25 JAN 1892 in at age 57 2 3
  • Burial: UNKNOWN Jenkins Cemetery, Granville County, North Carolina 4
  • Note:
There is conflicting information about who William G. Bullock's parents were. Various handwritten or typewritten notes provided by immediate family members indicate that THOMAS A. BULLOCK and LUCY LANGMIRE were his parents. Extensive information compiled by Barbara Bullock Elliott, however, indicated that his father's name was GEORGE FREEMAN BULLOCK (born about . 1810 in Granville Co.; died June 20, 1866), that his mother's name was MELINDA GREEN, daughter of Elijah GREEN and Elisabeth CULVERHOUSE, and that they were married on April 24, 1833. Barbara's compilation further suggests that Thomas A. Bullock (born June 5, 1857, died February 22, 1866--8 years old) and Lucy Lee Bullock (born May 15, 1862, died March 30, 1863--less than 1 year old) were among William G. Bullock's children, information that is not reflected among the family's notes. They were not reflected in his will because they had died many years before the will was drawn.

According to the book North Carolina Troops 1861-65, A Roster, published in 1993, William G. Bullock, of Granville County, NC, enlisted in Company E, 46th Infantry Regiment, North Carolina. He was taken as Prisoner of War on March 21, 1865 at Hatcher's Run, Virginia; confined on April 3, 1865 at Point Lookout, Maryland; and took the Oath of Allegiance on June 23, 1865, at Point Lookout, Maryland.

In his Last Will and Testament, W. G. Bullock provided the following:
"My request is that my relations & friends shall provide a decent burial for my body & burial services & also of my just debts be paid out of my estate.
Item 1. I give and bequeath to my dear wife Francis C. Bullock all of my personal & real estate to have & to hold during her natural life or during her widowhood & also Edney Frances Caroline my youngest daughter is to have a home as long as she lives single.

It was witnessed by J.L. Haskins and J. R. Stem.

Upon his death in 1892, according to the Application for Letters of Testamentary, signed on February 16, 1892 by Benjamin C. Bullock, executor, the "... property of the said W. G.
