    the cemetery where Henry was buried is also known as the Edwards-Smith cemetery. It is in Section 19 of Ora Twp. Directions from Ava - Go north on 3rd Street in Ava to the Renner Place at the northern Ava City limits. From the farmhouse you have to go east through a field and turn north into the woods.

    WILL OF HENRY SMITH In the name of God amen To all to whom it may concern Know ye that I Henry SMITH being of feeble health but of sound mind and memry (sic) and knowing the certainty (sooner or later) of my aproaching (sic) desolation I therefore publish this my last will and testament as follows to wit 1st I commit my soul to God who gave it with whom I hope to forever dwell in peace and my body to my famuly (sic) and friends to be by them consigned to the grave there to rest till the resurection (sic) morn. 2nd my will is that any funeral expenses and all my just debts shall be fully paid 3rd wheras (sic) my Father-in-law John EDWARDS in his life time gave to my wife Kessiah SMITH the west half of the east half of the south west quarter section nineteen (19) Town seven (7) range three (3) west and whereas my wife Kessiah and my self have sold said land now there fore it is my will that the proceeds of said land amounting to three hundred dollars ($300) shall be equally divided between those of my heirs being the children of my present wife Kessiah, and named as follows (to wit) John SMITH Robert SMITH Elizabeth SCHELLANGER Henry H., SMITH James Mc SMITH Kissiah M. HISER Ruth SMITH Philis SMITH 4th that my wife Kissiah SMITH shall have her rights in all my estate both real and personal as is directed by the statute of the State of Illinois 5th that the remainder of my estate of whatsoever kind shall be equally divided between all my heirs (to wit) Benet SMITH William M. Henry SMITH's first wife was Dicey MILLION, who died 1 Oct 1833. They were married 15 Nov 1821 in St. Clair Co., Illinois. Ruth SMITH, the daughter of Henry, married Peter CARR, after the will was made. Philis SMITH, another daughter, married Adam F. WARD after Henry had made his will. There were four of Henry's children deceased at the time he made his will in 1870.
