South Glenwood was formerly known as Long Street and leads from Main
street, south to what we used to call "Pine Knob." This was a park several
years ago and there is a monument there, placed by the U. D. C. as a Memorial
to Confederate Veterans. Several years ago, this was considered as
being in the country. There was a large hall built there for the use of
public gatherings, such as Band concerts and dances.

In the 200 block of Glenwood was a home built by Aunt Kate Reed who was
the mother of Miss Emma Reed, one of the first music teachers in the Russellville Schools. She taught in Crawford School about 1925 and passed away a few years later. Also, in this block was a house built by; "Berry, the
    Tailor."

In the 300 block was a home built by George Burris and at 317 is a
house built by Drew Fannin before WWI. Oscar Berryman, who was the first
City Mail Carrier in Russellville, built a house at 301 in 1917 and the one
at 317 in 1920. The place built by Mr. Fannin was later torn down and two
houses built there by Marvin LaVasque, who was also a City Mail Carrier...
