"Walter was the son of James & Jensey Wingfield also a twin to Luther. He married Fannie Bell Kirk 12-25-1904.W. B. Wingfield Rites Tuesday September 28, 1970Funeral services for Walter. B. Wingfield will be held from the Martin funeral Chapel at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, with Rev. Glenwood Buzbee officiating. Burial will follow in the Evans Cemetery near Magazine, Ark., Wednesday.Mr. Wingfield was born at Magazine, Ark., Feb. 25, 1862, and died in a Clinton hospital after a cofinement of four weeks. He came to the Merritt community in 1930 where he had lived since. He joined the First Baptist Church at Magazine when he was a small lad. He was married to Fannie Bell Kirk at Magazine Dec. 25, 1905. She preceded him in death Feb. 22, 1927. He was a retired farmer.He is survived by six children; Mrs Stanley Loman, McCloud; Mrs. Hewitt Williams, Shallowwater, Tex., Mrs Paul Kinney, Oklahoma City; A. R. "Jack" Wingfield, Elk City, Ruble Wingfield, Bellflower, Calif., James A. Wingfield, Clinton; one sister, Mrs Loda Whittaker, Blythville, Ark.; 17 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.One son preceded him in death.Martin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements."
