  • Tombstone reads: "Sarah L., Wife of I.L. Bird, Oct. 1, 1849, Jan. 25, 1910, God has transplanted her in her celestial home though cast down shes not forsake Though afflicted not alone Thou diddst give and thou hast taken Blessed Lord thy will be done"

    Her will lists the following as her heirs, as she had no issue:

    CC Daniel, next of kin
    Heirs: Marth Hodges, Mrs. Birdie L. Darsey, PP Bird, Susie Bradley - each received $267.28. Also mentioned were Mrs. Elizabeth Duggar, Mrs. Eliza Edwards, Mrs. Alice Southwell and Miss Francis Johnson and William Johnson, presumably her sisters and brothers.
