State of Tennessee, Seventh District
William E. Rodgers by virtue of Certificate warrant No. 2952 for 9 140/160 acres and dated 29th May 1818 Enters the whole of said warrant in Hardin County Range 13th and 2nd Section Beginning at the South west corner of An Entry in the name of Thomas H. Rodgers No. of entry 49 for 48 acres then South 86 poles to the point of Beginning thence 40 poles then south for complement. Located 24th Feby. 1821.

Thomas H. Rodgers, mentioned in the above land entry, is the oldest known son of Everett Rodgers. The only Rogers in Hardin County in the 1820 census was Everett Rogers. In the printed index he is listed as Eurell Rogers. I viewed the original and found it reads Evrett. Thomas H. Rogers married about 1826 and shortly thereafter moved to Mississippi. I found no Rogers in Hardin County in the 1830 Census but the 1833 Hardin County Enumeration shows Emet Rogers. The original probably reads Evret. Careful analysis of the census records show that Everett Rogers did not have another son, except for Thomas H. old enought to obtain a land certificate. Therefore, the above William E. is our Everett Rogers.
