My paternal great grandparents, the Sandbergs and Hallstroms, emigrated from Sweden in the 1880s and settled in what is now Pennington County, Minnesota. My database includes many families from Thief River Falls, Minnesota. On my mother's side, the Floyers are an ancient English West Country family. Much of my database deals with the genealogy of Devon, Dorset and Cornwall.

    He gets a legacy in his grandmother Anne (Duke) Barlett’s 1653 will: To my grandchild John B, the Profitts of Woodhouse liveing till there be moneys enough raised to buy the ffee of seaside living, and then Woodhouse to return to my son Ellis B..

    He must have died young for his younger brother’s daughter Mary (STUCKEY) to become the sole heir of the Bartletts of Hole.

    There is no corresponding entry in the burial register, but the following partly indecipherable floor-slab inscription could refer to him:

    “. . . Bartlett of Hole / [Brans]Combe . . . 6 day of May / Anno Dom. 1663. / One short sleepe past / He wakes eternally / Then death shall be no more / But death shall die. /” 13
