Antoine Dionne was also known as Dionne dit Sansoucy. Antoine & his wife Catherine Ivory arrived in New France about 1661 & established themselves in Ile d'Orleans, near Quebec City. The first piece of land where Antoine and his descendants lived is now located at 2242 Chemin Royale in St. Pierre, Ile
d'Orleans. Twelve children were born of this union, but six of their infant children died very shortly after
their birth. Only one boy had descendants to continue the Dionne name: Jean, on Aug 2, 1694 he married
Marie Charlotte Mignot in Chateau Richer. She was the daughter of Jean Mignot & Louise Cloutier. From
their union 9 children were born, of which Jean Baptiste, Joseph, Augustin & Antoine were to continue the
Dionne family name.
