Mrs. Suzanna W. Scott, aged and respected Vevay woman passed away at her home on West Main Street, Sunday afternoon following an illness of about three weeks. The deceased was born August 2nd, 1850, the eldest child and only daughter of Charles and Naomi Bray Wiseman, on the Wiseman homestead in Craig township.
On April 8th, 1882 she was united in marriage to James M. Scott, a prominent young man of this county and to them was born a son, Ethol. They removed to Vevay early in their married life and Mr. Scott entered into the grocery business. When the Vevay Deposit Bank was organized he became a stock holder and later was elected President of the institution which position he held at the time of his death in April 1922.
Mrs. Scott was a resident of this county during her entire life and when a young girl united with the Baptist church. After her marriage she transferred her membership to the Vevay Presbyterian church. With the son, Ethol, she leaves a grandson, James C. Scott, of Detroit, Michigan and two brothers, Henry and Samuel Wiseman, of near Warsaw, Indiana.
