He was married in Warsaw, June 7, 1883, to Amanda Alexander. The deceased was a farmer. Mr. Wiseman was a member of the Morris Chapel Methodist church.
Surviving relatives include the daughter at whose home he died; one son, Smith, of Dayton, Oh., one brother, Henry, of Tippecanoe township; 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Two sons preceded him in death.
History of Kosciusko County. Submitted by Florence Horm.
...Samuel spent his lifetime farming. He had both an apple and a peach orchard, he operated a maple sugar camp, and he grew his own swag tobacco for personal chewing. He was an excellent marksman, as was Amanda. When she wanted chicken for dinner, she could shoot the head off the rooster she chose to kill.
The family were devout members of the Morris Chapel Methodist Church. The heavy building timbers for the first Morris Chapel Church that burned December 6, 1963 were cut from the Wiseman woodland. Samuel was often called on to recite poetry or play his fiddle or harmonica at social events. The Wisemans were staunch Republicans and never missed voting in elections.
