Saturday at First Baptist Church, Mineola, with Dr. Mark Neeley and the Rev. Ken Ingram officiating. Burial will be in Mineola City Cemetery under direction of English Funeral Home, Mineola. Mr. McDonald died May 5 in a Tyler hospital. He was born Nov. 11, 1907, in Abbott to the late John Franklin and Martha "Mattie" Rebecca McDonald. He served in the Navy and was an equipment engineer at Camp Fannin. He worked for Texas Power & Light Co. in Texas and Mexico and later owned Mac's Automotive Supply Co. in Mineola. He was a member of First Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by daughter, Barbara Ann Bass in 1991, three sisters and three brothers. Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Frances McDonald, Lindale; son, Perry McDonald, Lindale; daughters, Martha Ingram, Everman, Lynda Horn and Sue Jeanes, both of Lindale; sister, Kathleen Anderson, Lindale; 13 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter. Pallbearers include John Bass, Joe Bass, Don Ingram, Ken Ingram, Clay Puckett, Rob McDonald and Stephen McDonald. Honorary pallbearers are Ray Blakeney, W.T."Dub" Harrison, Carl Lacy, Leonard Oglesby, Larry Richey and Milford York. Family will receive friends 6-8 P.M. She was born June 27, 1883 in the Abbott Community of Hill County, Texas, the daughter of Frank Lee and Jenny Margaret Melton Turner, pioneer Texans. She married John F. McDonald on November 24, 1901 in Hillsboro. Mrs. McDonald was a member of the First Baptist Church in McGregor. She moved to McGregor in 1927. She was also a member of Gold Star Mothers of America, American Legion Auxiliary of McGregor Chapter of The Eastern Star Lodge when the family moved to McGregor. She was preceded in death by her husband, and three sons, Captain Jerry R. McDonald, U.S.A.F., John V. McDonald and Frank R. McDonald. Survivors include: one son, O.P. McDonald of Mineola; four daughters, Kathleen Anderson of Dallas, Margaret Cawthron of McGregor, Mildred Blakely of Gatesville, and Rosemary Driver of Corpus Christi; ten grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; and ten great-great grandchildren. Grave side services were held at 3:00 P.M. Saturday, August 11, at Ridge Park Cemetery in Hillsboro with Rev. Paul Owens officiating. Edens Funeral Home in Hillsboro was in charge of arrangements.
