"HEDGESVILLE, W.Va. - Elmer E. "Tom" Younker, 66, of Hedgesville, died Friday, June 11, 2004, at his home of Lou Gehrig's disease. Born Jan. 21, 1938, in Washington County, he was the son of the late Quay and Ruth Heiston Younker. He retired from U.S. Silica after 30 years of service. He served in the U.S. Army and was a member of the Army National Guard. He was a member of Back Creek Valley Full Gospel Church. He was a member of Teamsters Union 992 and Funkstown American Legion Post 211. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Dorothy Johnson Younker; two daughters, Tracy Hensley and Tina Everhart, both of Martinsburg, W.Va.; one son, Quay Younker of Berkeley Springs, W.Va.; four sisters, Sylvia Smith, Patsy Klinger, Lillian Hart and Valeria Shoemaker, all of Maryland; two brothers, Bob Younker of Alabama, and Blair Younker of Maryland; and six grandchildren, including Laken Hensley, who lived with her grandparents. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Dale Younker and an infant brother. Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Back Creek Valley Full Gospel Church. Pastors Tom Snyder and Bobby Robinson will officiate. Military graveside services will be in Back Creek Valley Full Gospel Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home in Martinsburg and Tuesday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church.
