Jack Lane Painter, 67, of Star Route 2, Orbisonia, died at 1 a.m. Sunday, April 8, 1979, in the Veterans Administration Hospital, Pittsburgh, where he had been a patient for two days.
Born March 6, 1912 in Pitcairn, he was the son of Mrs. Odessa Noden of Nokomis, Fla., who survives. He married the former Lydia Davison of Three Springs on Dec. 31, 1955 at Saltillo. She also survives.
He is also survived by a daughter, Suzy Diane Painter, at home, and a sister, Melrose Lingo of Nokomis, Fla.
He was of the Protestant faith.
He was a member of the Madden-Wennick Post 518, American Legion, Orbisonia, the Blue Juniata Post 5754, VFW of Mount Union, and the National Wildlife Federation.
He had been self-employed as a painter.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 10, at 2 p.m., at the Martin R. Brown Funeral Home, Orbisonia, with the Rev. Victor Norris officiating. Interment will be made in the Old School Baptist Cemetery, Three Springs R.D.
Friends may call at the funeral home today from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 9 a.m. until the hour of the services.
