"Warfordsburg [Fulton Co, PA] - Helen V. (James) Palmer, 85, formerly of Warfordsburg, died Friday, August 13, 2010, at the Quarryville Presbyterian Retirement Community [Quarryville, Lancaster Co, PA]. Born in Hancock, [Washington Co.] Md., she was a daughter of the late Grover and Caroline Brewer James. She was the wife of the late W. Edward Palmer. She was a 1943 graduate of the Hancock High School and went on to graduate from the Hagerstown Business College. Helen was employed at the former Fairchild Engine and Airplane Corp. in Hagerstown. She was a member of the Warfordsburg Presbyterian Church and volunteered for Joy El Ministries’ Released Time Bible Program. Surviving is a son, Eugene E. Palmer, and wife Kimberly of Clear Spring, Md.; a daughter, C. Virginia Palmer, wife of Gary Akers of Quarryville; grandchildren: Kaitlin and Benjamin Palmer along with Joshua and Zachary Akers. She was preceded in death by brothers Eugene H. and Edward B. James. Funeral services were held Wednesday, August 18, 2010, at Warfordsburg Presbyterian Church at 11:00 a.m. Interment was in the adjoining cemetery.
