Gorsuch; To All People to whom these present shall come John Lockard of Dublin Township, Bedford County & State of Pensylvania sendeth greeting. Know ye that the said John Lockard for & in consideration of three hundred Dollars hath remised, released & for ever quit claimed & by these presents doth for him & his heirs remise, release & forever quit claim unto Benjamin Gorsuch of the afoesaid township, county & state & to his heirs & assigns forever, all the estate right, title,interest, claim & demand whatsoever of him the said John Lockard of in or to all his equal share or one fifth part of all that missuage & tracts of land situated lying & being in Dublin township, Bedford County late the estate of William Lockard deceased Vc & with the appurtenances & also all his equal share as aforementioned unto said Benjamin Gorsuch his heirs & assigns forever; so that neither he the same John Lockard nor his heirs nor any other person or persons for him or them or in his or their names or right, shall or may by any ways or means whatsoever at any time herafter claim challenge or demand any estate, right, title or interest of in or to the said equal part of his share in the said missuage lands & premises or any part thereof but from all & every action & actions, estate, right, title, interest, claim & demand of in or to the said equal rate & share of the said premises or any part of parcel there of they & every of them shall be forever barred by these presents; & the said John Lockard & his heirs the said missuage lands hereditaments & premises with the appurtenance to the said Benjamin Gorsuch his heirs & assigns against him the said John Lockard & his heirs shall & will warrent & forever defend. In wittness my hand & seal this Twenty fifth day of February A.D. One Thousand eight hundred & twenty three, 1823. Bedford County Is Personally appeared before me a Justice of the Peace in & for said County the within granter John Lockard did of his own free will & accord acknowledge the foregoing instrument of writing to be his act & Deed & desire that it may be recorded as such.
