    Fall River - Frances L. (Taber) Longfield, 93, of Adamsville Rd., Westport, died Tuesday, January 3, 2006 at Sarah Brayton Nursing Care Center. She was the widow of Eugene M. Longfield, Sr. Mrs. Longfield was born in Acushnet, daughter of the late Clarence E. Taber, Sr. and the late Sarah E. (Westgate) Taber, and had resided in Westport since 1940. Prior to her retirement she was the owner/operator of Longfield's Lantern Shop in Westport. She was a former member of the Rebecca's of Little Compton, RI. She is survived by a son: Eugene M. Longfield, Jr. of French George, VA; a daughter: Gladys S. Cory of Tiverton, RI; a sister: Ruth Pierce of Fairhaven; 11 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; several great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Laura L. Cornell McCoy. Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be Saturday, January 7, 2006 at the Potter Funeral Home, 81 Reed Rd., Westport at 10:00 A.M. Calling hours Friday 4 - 7 P.M. Interment will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Tiverton, RI.
