    The Queen was represented by Princess Alexandra and the Duke of
    Edinburgh by Field Marshal Lord Bramall, KG, at a memorial Mass for
    the Duke of Norfolk, Premier Duke and Earl of England, celebrated in
    Westminster Cathedral yesterday by the Cardinal Archbishop of
    Westminster.

    The Prince of Wales was represented by the Marquess of Cholmondeley,
    Princess Royal by Captain Nick Wright, RN, Princess Alice Duchess of
    Gloucester and the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester by Major-General
    Patrick Stone and Prince and Princess Michael of Kent by Mr Nicholas
    Chance.

    The Duke of Norfolk, son, read the lesson. The bidding prayers were
    led by Mrs George Franks, Miss Jemma Ryecart, Mr Miles Frost, the Earl
    of Arundel and Surrey and Flossy Fitzalan Howard, grandchildren.

    Father Timothy Radcliffe preached the Gospel and the Most Rev Maurice
    Couve de Murville read the Regimental Collect of the Grenadier Guards.

    Bandsmen of the Grenadier Guards played the Grenadiers Return during
    the service. The Lord Mayor of Westminster attended.

    Décès le 24 juin 2002 durant son sommeil, dans sa maison d'Henley-on-Thames (Oxfordshire) de Miles Francis Stapleton Fitzalan-Howard, 17ème duc de Norfolk. Né le 21 juillet 1915, le duc de Norfolk avait été créé chevalier de la Jarretière en 1983. Edward comte d'Arundel et de Surrey, fils aîné du défunt, devient le 18ème duc de Norfolk (S. P). Le décès est aussi annoncé dans le "Times" et le "Daily Telegraph".

    Death on June 24, 2002 during his sleep, in his house of Henley-one-Thames (Oxfordshire) of Miles Francis Stapleton Fitzalan-Howard, 17th duke of Norfolk. Born on July 21, 1915, the duke of Norfolk had been created knight of the Jumper in 1983. Edward count d' Arundel and of Surrey, son elder of late, becomes the 18th duke of Norfolk (S. P). The death is also announced in the "Times" and "Daily Telegraph".
