    1. Text: The only parish records for La Bresse available from Salt Lake City cover the years 1783-1788, and they are incomplete and heavily damaged by water and mold. Serving as surrogates for the missing parish records are four indexes made during the 19th century, covering the periods 1686-1750, 1750-1776, 1777-1790 and 1791-1802. These indexes have also suffered some damage (several leaves either missing in their entirety or in part). I have chosen to enter all the dates given in the indexes under the heading Naissances [births] as dates of baptism. All of these records are on FHL microfilm no. 1075494.
