Mrs. Amanda Kelly
Mrs. Amanda Bassham Kelly, age 86, wife of late George K. Kelly, died Saturday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John Green, at Green's Mill after an illness of several months. Her condition had been critical for some time and the end was not unexpected.
Mrs. Kelly was prominently known in that section of the county and was a woman of many fine traits, who was beloved and esteemed among a circle of wide friends. She was a member of the Church of Christ and besides Mrs. John Green, she is survived by another daughter, Mrs. Robert Mitchell Green, also of Green's Mill. Funeral services at Lanton Church of Christ Sunday morning by D. L. Robinson and internment in family cemetery. Oakes and Nichols.
Note by R.H.J.: There is a discrepancy on the first name of Josephine Bassham. The obituary above uses Amanda Bassham whereas her application for a confederate pension due to the service of George Kelly uses America Josephine Kelly.
