    Samuel Wilcoxson (Willcoxson) lived briefly at Killingworth with his mother and step-father, but then moved to Windsor where he served as deputy in 1646 and married Hannah Rice. Then he was with the group of pioneers who founded the community of Simsbury. Many of his descendants continued to live at Simsbury for over two hundred years.

    Samuel died intestate. The following is cited from "Manwaring's Digest of Connecticut Probate Records, Vol. 2."
    An agreement between the heirs of Samuel Wilcoxson of Simsbury...
    "To all Christian People to whom these presents shall come, greeting: Know ye that we, each of us, Samuel Willcoxson, William Willcoxson, Joseph Willcoxson, and Margaret Willcoxson, children of our honored father, Samuel Willcoxson of the town of Simsbury, late deceased intestate, do by these presents mutually appoint and ordain Thomas Holcomb, Samuel Case, John Pettebone, and Joseph Case to make distribution of our honoured father's estate and appoint to each of us our respective portions of said estate in lands and where it shall be, all to be judged and finally issued according to the rules of equity and coscience, to which judgment, issue and determination we bind ourselves, our heirs, executors and administrators in a bond of 100 to agree and abide, stand by and sit down satisfied with the judgment of the above said distributors. To the true performance of the above written premises we set our names and affix our seals this 31st day of March, 1712"

    Witnesses: Joseph Pettebone, Samuel Tuller, and Joseph Strickland.

    A subsequent notation set aside the home place of Samuel, Sr, to the use and proprietorship of Margaret Willcoxson, his daughter:

    Court Record, page 124-126, April 6, 1713: Adms. to Samuel, William, and Joseph Willcoxson. Also exhibit an agreement, which this Court confirm.
    Page 174 (Vol X, Probate Side): On the 18th day of December, 1722, we, the subscribers hereunto, being desired by Joesph Case of Simsbury to go and view a certain house which was formerly the estate belonging to Sergt. Samuel Wilcoxson decd., since dist. to Margaret Wilcoxson, daughter of the sd. decd., and we having taken a view of sd. house, that is to say, part of the house, being the easterly end of sd. house, one room, we do value the same at 2-00-00 as money.
