The Saint-André sailed from France to New France in 1659. Many of those on board had been recruited by Jeanne Mance in France for employment at the Hotel Dieu in Montréal.

REBOURS, Marguerite, born in 1645 in Paris, was recruited in 1659 by the Seur of Dauversière for employment at his place of residence. Once in Montréal, she signed a marriage contract with Pierre Raguindeau on November 15, 1659 (gr. Basset) in which it is thus qualified: << Virtous girl Marguerite Rebours, daughter of Mre Martin Rebours, merchant and middle-class man of Paris, and of Suzanne Roussel, her father and mother remaining in the St-Marcel suburb of Paris on Mouffetard Street, parish of St-Médard >>. The marriage took place in Montréal November 24th. Their elder daughter Angelique was baptized in Montréal the 22 Aug 1660 by Mgr of Laval and the godfather and godmother were Lambert Closse and Jeanne Mance. Raguindeau, anspessade(?) of the garrison of Villemarie, was a cousin of Renee Lopé and Marie Meunier, wife of Hodiau. He was killed by Iroquois in August 1665. Marguerite remarried in Montréal on June 14, 1666 to Jacques Guitaut. Marguerite is noted in Paris at the death of her father on May 29, 1670 (Paris, seals, National Archives, p.306). The notary Maugue drew up an inventory of the goods of Jacques Guitaut dit Jolicoeur, absent for a long time and said to have drowned on March 23, 1678. The burial record of Marguerite Rebours was not found. [Note: Jette indicates that Jacques died sometime after 8 Jun 1689 and Marguerite sometime after 18 Jan 1687.]
