    In May 1806, there was an agreement between Daniel H. Burford and his wife Sally relinquishing Daniel's rights to certain lands willed by Garland McAlister, Sr., dec'd to Sally and to GARLAND MCALISTER JR.. Witnesses were Thomas Banks, Jesse Bowers and Seth Jones. (Smith Co., TN Will Bk, 1805-1807, p 7, 57, quoted in Ansearchin News, vol 20, 1973)

    On 30 Nov 1812, Garland McAllister, Willis Jones, Berryman Turner and James Jones were witnesses to the deed of Geraldus Toole, attorney of Thomas Seawell King Davidson Co., TN, to Thomas Jones of Smith Co.     On 18 Sep 1815, Garland McAllister of Smith Co., TN sold to Berryman Turner of the same place 20 acres. This land was on the south side of the Cumberland River and part of a tract of Richard Banks, dec'd. willed to McAllister - known as Middle tract and adjoining land of Daniel H. Burford.     On 26 Oct 1815, Garland McAllister of Smith Co. bought from Berryman Turner 34 acres on the south side of the Cumberland River, part of a tract belonging to Richard Banks, dec'd known as the Middle Tract, adjoining land of Daniel H.     On 23 Feb 1816, The will of Thomas Banks was contested [apparently unsuccessfully] by [Thomas's relatives] Berryman Turner, John H. Burford and Garland McAlister (Smith Co., TN Wills and Inventories, 1823-1827, p 502. LDS Library reel 520903)

    On 28 Jun 1816, Garland McAllister of Smith Co., TN sold Daniel H. Burford 222 acres on the south side of the Cumberland River, part of a tract belong to Richard Banks, dec'd, called the Middle Tract, adjoining Willis Jones, Thomas Banks' line and George Bradley. This transaction, nevertheless, would be void if Kerenhappuch Banks breaks the last will and testament of her husband, Richard Banks. Witnesses were J.H.
