•Dear Norma I have been trying to find any information about David Stobbe. I know that he came to the States in Aug. 1892. He was born in Germany and moved to Saratov sometime before 1874 with his family. This is where he married Elizabeth Bartel. The children that came to the sates with them were Otto Age 17, David, Kathleen, and Jacob. Elizabeth was born a month after they arrived in the states. David the 1st as I call him was my great grandfather and David the 2nd was my grandfather. My dad said that neither of them would tell any thing of the old country. So if you have found any info of our roots tn Gernany please let me know. I would like some infromation on you side of the family and if you like I will send you some on our side Thanks and be talking with you My address is Kenneth Stobbe 8432 Vistarama Ave. Everett, WA 98208-3534

We have a death record for Elizabeth Stobbe however we have her death date
as 1906. No mention in it of her life working with or being a doctor. David
worked as a horse shoer for another Mennonite. She might have worked for a
Dr Jansen, perhaps she was a midwife. The Mennonite church might be able to
help. ( First Mennonite Church 402-228-2231) (Mennonite Church in town
The cost would be $10 for her obit
Another $10 would be required to look up the obit for David, rather we find
it or not.

Its funny, I was just about so send you a note
because it has been a long time. In answer to your
question, no I do not have Elisabeth Bartel Stobbe's
death cert. If you do I would sure like it. I have been
working on my side of the family as my cousin Bruce
Stobbe died in Oct. of 2004 and now I only have one
cousin left on that side of the family, so I must get what
info I can now as we are all getting older by the day.
You note to me came on my 69th birthday, time has a way
of just going on.
