Mrs. Wince Howard
Mrs. Essie Messer Howard, 56, of the Highland Bend community on Sciotoville, Rt. 4, died at 9 p.m., Friday at Portsmouth General Hospital
Born Jan. 10, 1907, in Michigan, she was a daughter of Charles and Viola Colley Messer.
Surviving are the husband, Wince Howard; five sons, Clifford, 6525 Harding Ave., Sciotoville, Ralph of Franklin Furnace, Wince Jr. and Thomas both of Highland Bend, and Herman, at home; four daughters, Mrs. Mary Ogg 3113 Walnut St., Mrs. Viola Willock of Louisville, KY and Kathy and Shirley Howard, both at home; four sisters, Mrs. Minnie Stiltner and Mrs. Grace Myers, both of Highland Bend, Mrs. Gladys Clarkson of Columbus, and Mrs. Lona Moyer of Marysville, Ohio; two brothers, James of New Boston and Fred of Columbus and 26 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, four sons, two daughters, a brother and a sister.
Mrs. Howard was a member of the Pentecostal Church of Highland Bend, where funeral services are to be at 2 p.m. Monday. Rev. Marion Stiltner is to officiate, and burial is to be in Wheelersburg Cemetery under direction of Gill Funeral Home.
