I noted your listing on RootsWeb and wondered about an entry you had for
    Nelson Rettenhouse and Lovina Carr.

I am looking for the origins of Ada/Eda Rittenhouse or Rettinhaus, etc., b.
ca. Aug 1862 (various sources say in Belleville, St. Clair Co., IL, or
Oregon, or Kansas) and d. a suicide in Jan 1899 in Davenport, IA. She is
believed to have married Peter McCrellias ca. 1881 and had four children:
John Madison, Fred, Ed, and Mabel Jane. Mabel married Isaac Elder and
Charles Balluff and had children Jessie and Lovina Miller, and Ada,
Constance, Herbert, Adelbert, Victor, and Julia Balluff. Mabel's brother
John M. McCrellias was my grandfather.

I have been stuck in my research on this family for some time. An elderly
Balluff family member recalls Des Moines, IA and Junction City and other
cities in Oregon as possible locations for the Rittenhouse/Rettenhaus
family, but searches there have come to nothing. So, I wondered if any of
this material mentioned above has a connection to any of the families in
    your RootsWeb database.

Appreciate your time and patience. And if I've contacted you before,
    please forgive me...!
