    Northop Watson Young, son of Elias Young, a Revolutionary soldier and his wife Hannah, who were also from Exter, RI before they moved to Voluntown, Conn. They lived at Green, NY, also Tioga county PA and may be a trip to Kansas and Nebraska.

    Served in the Revolutionary War.Recruit from Exeter 1782 under Cowell's "Spirit of 76."

    Sam, I have an interesting tidbit on Elias Young. In the NEHGS database, Vital Records of Rhode Island, 1636-1850, by James N. Arnold, I found the following entry from the Rhode Island pensioners census of 1840: "Elias Young, 77, Coventry resides with Hazard Champlain." I checked the 1840 census, and sure enough there he was listed as a pensioner, age 77, in the household of Hazard Champlain. 1840 U.S. Census, Coventry, Kent Co., RI, p. 67, line 19. Perhaps this is the origin of the name Hazzard Young who married Samantha Gee.
