      Appeared as before [ i.e. before Mr Jacob Bas and Mr Adrian Jans] Pieter Carstensen from Husum, shoemakers apprentice, having no parents, age 18, assisted by Mathijs Michels his acquaintance, living on the Goudsbloemstraat and Tryn Thijsen from Nordstrand, age 18 living as before [i.e. on the Goudsbloemstraat] assisted by Volcken Laurens her mother. [In his "Ostrander Update" article in July 2000 NYGBR, Chris Brooks proposes that there is an error in this record, and that Tryn Thijsen is from Husum, and Pieter Carstensen is from Nordstrand.]
