25 August 1927 - Thos. Skinner Passes:
Thomas Skinner one of the early settlers of this section of Nebraska pass ed away at his home south of town Tuesday at the age of seventy eight year s. Mr. Skinner was among the first settlers of the county having come in t he early eighties and has been identified with the development of the coun ty since that time. The cause of his demise was heart trouble, with whi ch he had been affected for several years. His wife and several grown chil dren survive him. The remains are being held pending the arrival of relati ves and the funeral will be held Friday afternoon at ? o'clock at the Spri ngview M.E. church.

Thomas Skinner was born August 20, 1850 at Hennepin, Mich and died at h is home south of Springview August 23, at the age of seventy-eight years a nd three days.
At the age of seven he moved with his parents to Illinois and then years l ater to Iowa where he grew to manhood. From that state he moved to Missou ri where in 1873 he was married to Sophrenia C. Walls In 1883 he settl ed in Keya Paha county taking a homestead near the Niobrara river and h as remained there with the exception of three years spent in Seattle, Wash ington,
He leaves to morn his demise a wife and eight children, Robert, Benjam in H. and Stella M. of Springview. William of Lewiston, Montana, Charl es of Seattle, Washington, Mrs. Cora Hoover of Niehart, Montana, Jam es of Seattle, Washington and Thomas P. of Yale, Oklahoma. He also leav es two brothers, two half brothers, one half sister, eleven grandchildre n, two great grandchildren and a host of friends. He has been a memb er of the Christian church since childhood and was also a member of the Ma sonne and Royal Highlander fraternities.
