    Henry Ober died at the age of 83 years. His will of Henry Ober of Elizabethtown, Pa. was probated on July 30, 1822. He mentioned his wife, Magdalena. She was to receive the mefsuage and a tract of land containing 18 acres and 143 perches which was purchased from Abraham Rickert. This land lay in West Donegal Twp., Lancaster Co., Pa. and was bounded by George Wysler; Christian Mufselman; and other. He mentioned the following children: Christian Ober; John Ober; Henry Ober; Peter Ober; Benjamin Ober; Magdalena Ober; Elizabeth Ober (deceased) married David Brubaker; granddaughter, Ann Ober (daughter of Michael Ober) married Henry Bear. Executors: Benjamin Ober, Lancaster City; Christian Ober, Donegal Twp. Witnesses: John Wolfley; Jacob Peelor; John Campbell. Addendum: Before his death, Henry Ober purchased a wooded tract of land containing 11 acres in Donegal Twp., from Jacob Gisch bounded by Jacob Gisch and Paul Youtz. Addendum: Before his death, Henry Ober contracted Henry Brimmer, a carpenter from Elizabethtown on August 6, 1821 to build on the land purchased from Abraham Rickard. Brimmer was to complete the project and maintain a good quality workmanship even if Henry Ober was deceased before the family paid the bill. (Curiously the will did not mention Henry Ober's daugher, Veronica married Joseph Shenk). Will Book N, Volume 1, p. 202. Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.

    Henry Ober was a merchant in Elizabethtown, Lancaster Co., Pa. He served in the Revolutionary War under Capt. Thomas Robinson, 3rd Class, 7th Battalion, Lancaster County Militia; mustered in April 23, 1781.

    On April 1, 1815 Henry Ober was listed as owning property in Rapho Twp., Lancaster Co., Pa. He owned 6 acres and 8 perches adjoining the lands of Adam Lebe and Adam Brubaker. On his property were one log house 26x20 and one log barn. 1815 Direct Tax, Rapho Twp., Lancaster Co., Pa., p. 64.

    Henry Ober was guardian of Sabina and Jacob Hostetter, his niece and nephew. They were children of his wife's (Veronica Stauffer's) sister, Anna Barbara Stauffer Hostetter. Bond Book 1, Volume 1, p. 96. Dated June 19, 1843. Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.

    Henry Ober's will was probated on July 30, 1822. He appointed Benjamin Ober and Christian Ober as executors, but they were later discharged. Henry Ober of Elizabethtown names Christian Hershey of West Hempfield Twp., Lancaster Co. as the new administrator. Witnesses: Christian Hershey; William Cooper, Lancaster City; Alexander Patterson, Rapho Twp., Lancaster Co., Pa. $2400 paid to the commonwealth to interested parties of the estate. Bond Book 1, Volume 1, p. 61. Dated April 2, 1838. Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.

    The estate of Henry Ober of Donegal Twp., Lancaster Co., Pa. totaled $2300. Christian Hershey, the former administrator, was discharged and must pay the balance of the estate $1,143.21 1/2 to the new administrators. Executors: Jacob Shenk, Heidelberg Twp., Lebanon Co., Pa.; Jacob Erb, Warwick Twp., Lancaster Co., Pa. Witnesses: Jacob Shenk; Jacob Erb; Elias Eby, Elizabeth Twp., Lancaster Co., Pa.; John Kauffman, Lancaster City.

    The will of Ulrich Burkholder, Sr. of Lebanon Twp., Lancaster Co., Pa. was written on Sept. 5, 1785 and was probated on Jan. 23, 1786. He mentioned his wife, Barbara Burkholder and the following children: John Burkholder; Christian Burkholder; Ulrich Burkholder; Ann Burkholder married Abraham Leyman; Fronica Burkholder married Francis Dealer; grandchildren of the deceased daughter, Barbara Burkholder; grandchildren of John Burkholder, Christian Burkholder, Ulrich Burkholder, Ann Burkholder, Barbara Burkholder, Esther Burkholder married James Sullivan.     John Flickinger of Pascton Twp., Lancaster Co., Pa. sold to Henry Ober of Rapho Twp., Lancaster Co., Pa. for 12 pounds and 15 shillings 4 1/4 acres of land in Pascton Twp. bounded by other land of Henry Ober; John Ilinope?; other land of John Flickinger; George Lenies. Witnesses: Michael Loflt; _____ Ruol. Written Feb. 7, 1778. Recorded Feb. 23, 1786. Deed Book A, Volume 1, p. 352-354. Dauphin County, Pennsylvania.

    George and Mary Lerue of Pacston Twp., Lancaster Co., Pa. sold to Henry Ober of Lancaster Co., Pa. 29 acres and 107 perches in Pacston Twp. bounded by tailrace of mill owned by Henry Ober; Francis Lerue; George Lerue; John Flickinger for 290 pounds, 12 shillings, and 6 pence. (Original patent A-7-552. June 25, 1736 to John Taylor). Written June 15, 1786. Recorded June 15, 1786. Witnesses: Joseph Henry; J. Montgomery. Deed Book B, Volume 1, p. 160-166.     Henry and Magdalena Ober of Rapho Twp., Lancaster Co., Pa. sold to the directors of the poor house of employment for Dauphin Co., Pa.: Edward Crouch; Adam Boyds; Peter Cloninger three tracts of land containing 175 1/4 acres. Witnesses: William Grayon; Samuel Lerue. Written Recorded Jun. 4, 1807. One tract containing 122 acres and a grismill in Paxton Twp., Dauphin Co., Pa. bounded by John Elder; Jonas Lerue; Hugh Cunningham; Thomas Mease; Thomas Rutherfre. was sold by Jean Renick, widow of Thomas Renick, to Henry Ober on Apr. 22, 1777 (Deed Book Y, p. 421. Dauphin Co., Pa.). The second tract of land containing 4 1/4 acres bounded by John Krisp; Peter Bishop; Conrad Bumbauch (formerly John Flickinger) was sold by John and Barbara Flickinger to Henry Ober on Feb. 7, 1778 (Deed Book I, p. 352. Dauphin Co., Pa.). The third tract of land contiaining 29 acres and 107 perches in Lower Paxton Twp. bounded by Francis Lerue; Joshua Elder; George Lerue; Conrad Bumbauch (formerly John Flickinger) was sold by George and Mary Laru to Henry Ober on Jun. 15, 1786 (Deed Book I, p. 100/160. Dauphin Co., Pa.)

    On April 2, 1773, Jacob and Elizabeth Ober of Rapho Twp., Lancaster Co., Pa. granted land to Henry Ober of Rapho Twp. 150-153 acres of land in Rapho Twp. bounded by Rudy Beam, John Sherer, and Philip Baum for 1800 pounds. Released February 29, 1792. Recored May 15, 1773. Witnesses: John Philip Beck, P. Marseller. Land Deed P, p. 497. Lancaster County, Pennsylvania Court House.

    On July 3, 1770 Henry and Frena Ober of Rapho Twp., Lancaster Co., Pa. granted to Philip Baum of Rapho Twp. part of a 243 acre tract in Rapho Twp. bounded by Christian Longenecker and Stephan Beck for 42 pounds and 7 shillings. Recorded on September 20, 1770. Witnesses: J. P. De Haas, Carl Schailly. (Henry Ober wrote in German). Deed Book N, p. 209-210. Lancaster County, Pennsylvania Court House.

    Jacob Springer of Rapho Twp., Lancaster Co., Pa. granted to Henry Over of Rapho Twp. 4 acres in Rapho Twp. bounded by Peter Brubaker, Henry Miller, and Jacob Springer for 12 pounds.
