    South Carolina families would descend from Benjamin or Michael McGee according to John Lanier Haynes. His book HAYNES -MCDONALD HERTIAGE QUEST quotes that Margaret Hanna McGee Skelton's father, Isham McGee (father was Anselom 'Ansel" McGee according to will in Elbert County, GA) settled near Bio Baptist Church, Michael McGee settled Abbeville SC & Benjamin McGee settled around Fairplay SC. He says these were brothers who came from Ireland. I am still looking at ship records. Barbara
