    GWENDOLYN LEONE WRIGHT
    "Gwendolyn Leone Wright, 76 of 3701 Crescent Rim, Boise, di ed Tuesday, Nov. 17, 1987, in a Boise hospital after an ext ended illness.
    Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today, Nov. 19, at the A lden-Waggoner Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be cele brated at 10 a.m., at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Friday , Nov. 20, Mr. and Mrs. Wright's 58th wedding anniversary . The Rev. Thomas Faucher will be the celebrant. Burial wil l follow in Morris Hill Cemetery.
    Mrs. Wright was born Dec. 16, 1910, at Great Falls, Mont . her father was Andrew G. Sathre of Warren, Minn., and he r mother was Laura Rose Rayter of Kiev, Poland. She attende d grade school at Helena, Mont and St. Theresa's Academy a t Boise. She graduated from Burley High School in 1928, an d attended the University of Idaho. She married Calvin E. W right on Nov. 20, 1929, at Stanford University. They live d for some time at Burley, Rupert, Wallace, and Lewiston, a nd have resided at Boise for nearly 50 years. She was an ac countant for Idaho Bank and Trust and the Idaho First Natio nal Bank, also worked in the children's department of the B on Marche, and for the state auditor's office, retiring i n 1983.
    She was a devout member of Sacred Heart Parish. Gwen wa s a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmothe r and was always there for her children and grandchildren . She was a former church organist and an accomplished pian ist. She was a volunteer for several years at the Associati on for Retarded Citizens. She was also an ardent sports fan.
    Survivors include her husband Calvin; a daughter, Beverl y Brunelle, both of Boise; a son, Thomas Calvin Wright of S eattle; nine grandchildren and spouses, Therese and Pat Cli fford of Stockton, Calif., Michael and Beatriz Brunelle o f New York City, Nicholas and Laurie Brunelle, John and J o Jo Brunelle, and ANdrew Brunelle, all of Boise, Lisa an d Eric Johnston of Minneapolis, Kathleen and John Brawn o f Phoenix, Ariz., Thomas Lee and Sandy Wright of Santa Moni ca, Calif., and Dan Wright of San Diego; eight great-grandc hildren, Katie Jo Brunelle, Krista Ann Brunelle, and Jeffre y Paul Brunelle, all of Boise, Jordan Clifford of Stockton , Calif., Sarah Lynne Wright of Santa Monica, Calif., Laur a Brawn, Virginia Brawn and John Brawn, all of Phoenix; an d several cousins, nieces and nephews. Her parents, a broth er, Andrew Sathre Jr., and a sister, Woodrow Detmer, died e arlier.
    Pallbearers will be the six grandsons, Thomas Lee, Dan Wr ight, and Michael, Nicholas, Andrew and John Brunelle.
    The family suggests that memorials may be mnade to the Mo untain States Tumor Institute, 151 E. Bannock, Boise, Idah o 83702; or to the Ada County Association for Retarded Citi zens, 4402 Albion, Boise, Idaho 83705.
    Friends may call today, (Thursday) from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m . at the Alden-Waggoner Chapel."
    Gwen was a firecracker. She was born in Great Falls, Cascad e, MT. There was a fire there and it burned up all their re cords so she has no birth certificate. She won the pretties t baby contest when she was three earning a 15 dollar gol d peice. She had over 27,000 votes over the next runner ups , a pair of boy twins who had only 18,000 votes. They live d in Helena where her sister Woody (Woodrow Wilson) and bro ther Andy (Andrew) were born. As a teen they lived in Burle y, ID where grandma met grandpa Cal Wright's sisters. Cassi e used to pick up grandma drive around the corner while gra ndma changed her clothes and put on makeup. (Her father did n't allow modern dress or makeup) Grandma once had two date s in one night. She kissed the one fellow goodbye went insi de and minutes later came out to go out with the second gu y she had made plans with. Neither one knew. After Gwen mar ried Cal she had Bev Jo a year later. Eleven months later s he gave birth to my dad, Thomas Calvin. She didn't know sh e was pregnant until she was almost 6 months along. She wa s playing golf when she went into labor with Tom and wante d to finish the game before leaving. She barely made the ho spital in time. Grandma was always opinionated and compassi onate. She worked with retarded children for a time and i n a dept. store (in her later years). She sewed alot and ma de our xmas stockings and church dresses every year for xma s and easter. She was raised a Catholic and was strong in h er beleif. She tried to get Cal to join but he always resis ted until they were in their 70's and as a present Grandp a went to church with her and took communion, Grandma was a ghast until Grandpa told her he was secretly taking Catholi c classes and had been Baptised. Gwen died of a blood cance r.
