The following is a post to SGM, 16 Sep 1999, by Adrian Chan ning, whichshows that Margaret is daughter of Sir Edward b y Elizabeth Wardeux:

Sussex Archaeological Collections, Vol III (1850). At p p 89 -102 thereis an article of this family by William Durr ant Cooper, but note that itis stated there that Sir Thoma s Lewknor m Philippa (widow of Sir RichardBarnes) d&h of Si r Edward Dalyngrudge of Bodyam Castle

The National Trust Guide to Bodiam Castle 1991 corrects thi s:

    Sir John Dalyngrigge

    left

Sir Dalyngrigge m Joan de la Lynde

    left

    A) Sir Edward Dalyngrigge (c1346-by 1395), builder of Bodia n, m ElizabethWardeux

    and

    B) Walter Dalyngrigge

    A) Sir Edward and Elizabeth left

    and

ii) Margaret m Sir T Sackville (left Edward)

The above B) Walter D (by NN) left

    a) Richard (-1470 sp)

    b) William dsp

    c) Philippa m1 Sir R Barnes, m2 Sir Thomas Lewknor

Sir John D's will left Bodiam Castle to his wife Alice fo r life then tohis cousin Richard, then failing issue by Ric hard and his brother Williamto Philippa.

There is more in the NT guide, I don't know if you can obta in a copy inthe US.

Bodiam Castle, near Hastings, is not terribly large, but th e externalwalls are in good condition. It is set in a wid e moat, so when theconditions are right, it is surrounded i n mist - it is very beautiful - a"fairy-tale" castle - ofte n used for film sets.

DO NOT TAKE THIS WORK AS GOSPEL. This is the work of many people. Be very careful about those with no dates. Several of the families have different spellings for the same name. I had to cut the posted tree to only my ancestors as it is too big to post it all. (count started 22 Nov 2010) free counters
