Jacques CORTELYOU is ag ain mentioned in the sam e story in reference to 'land' details which he h ad inspec ted formerly. [This story, from what I can tell, is abou t land o wned by Dutch who'd bought it from the Indians, fr om whom the English in a nother vessel were attempting to p urchase, and the exchange between the pa rties of each vess el. This land was then in the hands of the Dutch but wh e n in the following year the same land passed to the hands o f the Englis h, the new Governor, Richard NICOLL supersede d Director STUYVESANT, and ow nership of the land changed h ands to those English in the 2nd vessel.]dwt
