In addition Gorm, according to the Royal Families o f Scandinavia, is known to have only two sons: Knut, who di ed abt 936, & Harald Bluetooth, who possibly killed his old er brother. The general opinion of professional genealogist s is that Herfast's ancestry isunknown, but probably the an cestors of Gunnora, wife of Richard I of Normandy were mino r nobles, of Danish origin. Gorm was a powerful monarch o f a united Denmark, while his father Harald was a min kin g of the island of Sjaelland. Thus a younger son of Haral d would fit the mold better than a son of Gorm.
