    Page 258. At the request of Joseph Garner Jr, the following deed was recorded on May 24, 1748.
    Apr 25, 1748 from Thomas Boarman Mudd of CC, planter, to Joseph Garner Jr of CC, planter, for 9000 lbs tobacco, part of a tract of land called Bryerwood, bounded by a Spring Branch, the line of the original land called Bryerwood, containing and laid out for about 50 acres. Signed-Thomas Boarman Mudd. Wit-Will Eilbeck, R Harrison. Memorandum That the name or word Boarman was interlined throughout this deed over the name Thos Mudd before the execution thereof.
    CC. Apr 25, 1749. Then came Thomas Mudd, party to this deed, and acknowledged the same.

To have and to hold, sd land and premises unto sd Charles Garner, and sd Joseph Garner covenants with sd Charles that the sd Joseph shall warrant and forever defend sd land to sd Charles against all persons claiming sd land under sd Joseph Garner Jr. Signed-Joseph Garner Jr. Wit-Dan of St Thos Jenifer*, Dan Jenifer*. This deed was acknowledged on Jul 1, 1761 by sd Joseph Garner Jr.

Jun 24, 1761 from Thomas Mathewes Sanders of CC, planter, to Joseph Gardner (Gardiner) Jr of CC, planter, for 40 £ sterling, the lease, during the natural life of sd Thomas Mathews Sanders and during the natural life of Henritta Morriss, the wife of Jacob Morriss, and during the natural life of Sarah Leek, wife of Richard Leek, all that part of a tract of land called Cow branch, not already conveyed by sd Thomas Mathews Sanders unto Bennett Clements, containing about 120 acres, the whole tract lying in CC in his Lordships manor of Pauguiah, and containing 205 acres, according to the certificate of survey thereof dated Sep 5, 1743 in the name of sd Thomas Mathews Sanders.
