2. Robert died 1813 Barren Co. He married Elizabeth Shirley, daughter of Thomas and Mollie (Grubbs) Shirley. Robert and Elizabeth were 1st cousins. Elizabeth married 2nd Daniel Price and lived in Wisconsin.
(1). Mary 1806 died Sept 17, 1858 She married James Shirley Mar 5, 1825, son of Richard and Nancy Shirley. Mary and James were double 2nd cousins.
(2). James July 30, 1803 died 1893 Hendricks Co. IN. He married Deborah Presley Dec 13, 1827 Barren Co. KY. They were married by Ralph Petty, pastor of the Blue Springs Regular Baptist Church... originally named Mud Camp Church. This was in the part of Barren Co. that later became Metcalf Co. Joseph Presley signed the marriage bond as did James Shirley. Deborah was born March 30, 1808 TN and died Aug 20, 1886 in Hendricks Co. Indiana.
James and Caleb Shirley were among the first settlers of what later was Lincoln Township in Hendricks County, IN. They settled on Big Creek, 3 miles S.W. of Pittsboro IN about 1830, and James died there in 1893.
James and Deborah were members of the Big Lick Regular Baptist Church which was organized Oct 12, 1833 at the home of Adam Spicklemire -- with Benjamin Harris as minister.
James was a farmer and, after Deborah's death, was proprietor, along with his son Francis Marion, of a hardware store in Brownsburg under the name of Shirley & Son.

He married Mary Turnage/Turidge and they homesteaded land near the home of her father, William Turnidge, in Ray Co. MO until they separated. Mary went west with their daughter, Martha. They pitched camp on the Snake River by a hot springs. they later filed a homestead on the camping ground which later proved to be what is now the famous Given's Hot Springs.
