WOODWARD, HENRY, age 49, 27-30 March 1758, stated that about 17 years ago his father John WOODWARD.., and when the deponent was asked who were his mother and grandmother, answered that he always understood that his mother was the daughter of Gerrard BROWN, and that she first married Richard NEWTON, by whom she had three sons, the eldest of which was named John, and that after the death of the said Richard, she m. John WOODWARD, and that his grandmother was the widow of Gerrard BROWN, and after the said Brown's death she m. To wife Catherine Woodward, extx, and to her all my estate.
To dau. Mary Risen, tract whereon she now lives, 18 acres and called the "Land of Ease"; also 34 acres adjoining being part of tract called 'Hudsons Disappointment" being all that which lies on that side of the branch called the 'Long Pen" next to her; also Negro woman Beck. And that day she the said Mary Risen shall offer to sell the said land it shall become the inheritance of my dau. Violetta.
To dau. Violetta McPherson all the rest of my land being tract of 50 acres called Molley's Chance ' and remainder part of
Hudson's Disappointment," being 53 acres whereon my house and plantation is.
To granddau. Sarah McPherson Negro girl Terra, Negro boy Lewis, cow, furniture.
Remainder of estate to be divided between my other two daus., Sarah Harrison and Lovereta Young, and my son in law, William Matthews and his sister Anne Brauletta(?).

Anne Shaklet said she saw John Woodward sign the will.
