Note: River News Obituary 29 April 2006 Dorothy Wilson Dorothy I. Wilson, 87, of Troutdale, Ore., passed away Thursday, April 20, 2006. She was born Dorothy Irene Bruner on Oct. 12, 1918, in Jerome, Idaho, to Ross and Nellie (Young) Bruner. She graduated from Jerome High School in 1936 and married A. Delbert Wilson on Sept. 24, 1937, in Utah. Dorothy came to Cascade Locks, Ore., in 1942. She was the cafeteria cook at Cascade Locks School for 28 years and then served as Justice of the Peace in Cascade locks for 12 years until her retirement in 1988. She was active and was an advocate for many community affairs in Cascade Locks. Dorothy was a member of Cascade Locks Community Church, the Lioness Club and the City Boosters Club. She loved all kinds of crafts including oil painting, ceramics and needlework, and was known throughout the area for her cooking. Dorothy moved to Troutdale in 2004. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband in 1984 and her son, David, in 1939. Survivors include daughters Donna Nichols of Gresham, Ore., and Doris Wilson of Troutdale; sons Darrell Wilson of Parker, Kan., and Richard Wilson of Vancouver, Wash.; sister Rebecca Simpson of Knoxville Ill.; six grandchildren and 132 great-grandchildren. A service of remembrance will be held on May 1 at 11 a.m. at Cascade Locks Community Church. Contributions may be made to the Columbia Gorge Lions Club
