Note: Scott Merton Pepper was called home to heaven to celebrate his 49th birthday on Monday, April 18, 2011, after a battle with cancer. Scott was born April 18, 1962, in Valparaiso, Ind., and died peacefully in his sleep in San Angelo, Texas. Scott grew up in El Paso, Texas. He graduated from the University of Texas-El Paso with a BA degree in business management. He worked many years as a data marketing manager and was employed at Oxford Inc. of Dallas, Texas. Scott is survived by his parents, Merton and Julia Pepper of Mason, Texas; two sisters, Sonia Haub of Stillwater, Okla., and Sabrina Figert and her husband, Dario Figert, of San Angelo, Texas; two brothers, Brent Pepper of Mason, Texas, and Steve Pepper and his wife, Carolyn, of Cabot, Ark. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. The family would like to give special thanks to VistaCare of San Angelo and his many good friends from the Dallas area who were willing to help him during his illness. Scott was always a caring and giving person who loved others. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 21, 2011, at First Baptist Church, 325 College, Mason, Texas. Interment will follow in the New Grooch Cemetery. Services have been entrusted to the Arnoldo Gutierrez family and the Gutierrez Funeral Chapels/North.
