Alfred Edward Denton, son of Mr. And Mrs. Jack Denton, both deceased, was born September 7, 1874; died at his home near Bendavis, Mo., May 5, 1933, making his age at death 58 years, 8 months, 28 days.

He was married to Laura A. Denton [Murr] August 14, 1892. To this union five children were born: Jim Denton and Mrs. Lou Fry [Frey], of Huggins, Mo.; Mrs. Gertie Kinser, of Rialto, California; one son died in infancy and a daughter, Mrs. Bertha Hutsell, passed to this great beyond about two years ago.

Mr. Denton leaves his wife and children, one sister, Mrs. John Freeman, of Bendavis, and twenty grandchildren. The wife and three children were with their husband and father during his illness and all was done that could be, but the Heavenly Father, who doeth all things well , saw fit to call him home.

Mr. Denton professed his hope in Christ about five years ago and united with the Free Will Ba ptist church at Number One, and it can be truly said of him that he has lived a faithful christian life.

The wife has lost a faithful companion, the children a loving father and the community a true friend and neighbor.

Funeral services were conducted at Number One church Saturday afternoon by Rev. Clarence Ussery; internment followed at Number One cemetery.
