Charles County Maryland Land Records Liber IB #12 Folio 443 At the request of Vincent Posey the following deed was recorded this 21st day of August Anno Domini 1818. This Indenture made this twelfth day of August in the year eighteen hundred and eighteen between James Bullet Latimer of Charles County and State of Maryland of the one part and Vincent Posey of the County and State aforesaid of the other part witnesseth that the said James B Latimer for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred and seventy three dollars fifty cents current money to him in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have granted bargained sold aligned enseoffed and confirmed and by these presents do grant bargain sell align inseoff and confirm unto the said Vincent Posey his heirs and assigns forever part of two tracts of land to wit part of a tract of land called Putney and part of a tract of land called Gores Addition and are concluded in the following lines and bound viz beginning at a stone in the first boundry of Gores Addition and the boundry of Maeocks Rest and Putney and "omitted land dimensioning " Adjoined land of Thomas Baker and William Thompson along the main road leading from Port Tobacco to Peecawen Church containing thirty four acres and two roods. Signed Sealed & Delivered by James Bullet Latimer in presence of Robert Crain and Joseph Watham. On the back of the aforegoing Deed thus written to wit. Charles County to wit. Be it remembered that on this twelfth day of March in the year eighteen hundred 1818 Personally appears before the subscribers two of the Justices of the peace for the County aforesaid the within named James Bullet Latimer and acknowledged the same to be his act and deed and the land and premises therein mentioned to be the right title property and estate of the of the within named Vincent Posey his heirs and assigns forever according to the true intent purport and meaning of the same and according to act of assembly in such case made and provided and at the same time came Elizabeth Latimer wife of the said James B Latimer being privately examined apart from and out of the hearing of her husband did declare that she made her acknowledgement willingly and freely without being induced threats by fear or threats of her said husband or fear of his displeasure acknowledged before Robert Crain Joseph Watham Received this eighteen hundred and seventeen from Vincent Posey one hundred seventy three dollars and fifty cents current money in full of the within mentioned consideration.
