13 Oct 1778 StM Co: in his will John Dent bequeathed all of his real and personal estate to his wife Mary during her natural life; he bequeathed to his children the following, to go to them after the death of his wife: to his dau Judith Wood £15; to his dau Elizabeth Chapilear £15; to his son John Dent "all the land whereon I now live", being part of "Freestone Point", as well as a bed and furniture, and a cow and calf; to his children Rebecca Dent, Susanna Dent and Tabithy Dent all his livestock and household furniture not already disposed of, to be equally divided; and to his children Rebecca Dent, Susanna Dent, Sarah Harrison and Tabitha Dent two negroes Peter and Sarah and their future increase, to be equally divided; appointed his wife Mary Dent executrix; witnesses were Dorcas Mackhon, Mary Mackhon and Samuel Amery «StM Co Will Bk (StMW) JJ No1:104»
