    He bought land from Henry Bucher in the NW quarter of section 19, Wayne Twp., Wayne Co., OH in 1866 and an additional adjacent 8 acres in Chester Twp. from Christian Stoll in 1869.

    AARON MOWRER PASSES AWAY
    WELL KNOWN CHESTER TOWNSHIP CARPENTER TAKEN BY DEATH
    Aaron Mowrer, aged 75 years, one of the most prominent residents of Chester township, died at eight o'clock Friday morning from dropsy after a short illness. It was the second time he was ill during his long life, he having some years ago passed through a siege of typhoid fever.
    Mr. Mowrer was born in Chester township, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Jonas Mowrer, and he lived there all his life. He was a member of the Bethel church at Overton for over 30 years. Mr. Mowrer was a carpenter by trade, and built many of the homes and barns in that part of the county. Mr. and Mrs. Mowrer raised a family of eleven children, all but one of whom have married. His death is the first in the family. The children who survive are as follows: Mrs. Emma Ritter, of New Pittsburg; Mrs. Lizzie Mott, of Wooster; H.L. Mowrer, Perry Mowrer, Elmer Mowrer, and William Mowrer, all of Wooster; Jonas Mowrer, living north of Mechanicsburg; James Mowrer, north of Madisonburg; John Mowrer, of Golden Corners; Mrs. Anna Bowersock, of west of Overton; and Miss Jane Mowrer, at home.
