Note: !2012jun MORE info. every ten years evidently from tomtilton (at) aol.com - Warren, I have been looking into Mary R. Moseley's husband, John Watkins. I had it as Dr. John Watkins the medical partner of of my ggg grandfather, Dr. William Norval Richardson. I came across Dr. Watikns' gravestone on-line. He died in Burnt Corn County, Al. in 1853. Mary Moseley was married to Dr. Richardson and living in Glennville, Barbour County, Al. (in county records) as early as 1843. The will of John Watkins (uncle of Dr. Richardson's first wife, Susanna [Susan] Watkins) names his wife as Mary. This John Watkins died in 1841 which would fit with her marrying Dr. Richardson in c. 1842/43. John Watkins in his will leaves her slaves that match-up similar to the slaves she owns on the 1850 census. Tom Tilton ;

Note: !2012jun CORRECTIONS BY Sarah Sharpless - sks374 (at) bellsouth.net : - 1. You have Mary Moseley Watkins Richardson Harris' burial site as "maybe Russell, GA." There isn't a Russell Co., GA. I don't know where Mary is buried, but perhaps the person who provided this information meant Russell Co., AL. - 2. You have Edmund Smith Harris, 3rd husband of Mary Moseley, as being born abt 1785 in "probably SC." He was born on 24 Oct 1786, in VA. The source for the birth date is the Absalom Harris Bible records, in "Bible Records, compiled by The Genealogical Society of the Original Muscogee County and The Oglethorpe Chapter, DAR," Columbus, GA, 1980. The source for the birth place is the 1850 Troup Co., GA, census. His obituary, published in "The Countryman" (a Putnam Co., GA, newspaper), confirms the birth date, but has the birth place as Hancock Co., GA. This isn't possible, as Hancock Co., GA, didn't exist in 1786 (it was created from Greene & Washington Cos. in 1793). The earliest record I've found of his father, Absalom Harris, in GA is a deed dated 16 Oct 1792 (of course, there could be earlier deeds, but I haven't found them). Edmund's father, Absalom Harris, married his second wife, Clara Jeter, on 18 Dec 1785, in Greensville Co., VA, so I suspect the VA birth place is probably correct. - [3.] Mary Moseley and Edmund Smith Harris married in LaGrange, Troup Co., GA, according to the marriage announcement: - The Southern Christian Advocate, 24 Nov 1859: "In LaGrange, the residence of Mr. John Douglass, by the Rev. Alexander Graham, Mr. E. S. Harris, of LaGrange, and Mrs. Mary P. Richardson, of Glenville, Ala." [My note - her middle initial is "R" (not "P") according to her will.] - Source: Brent H. Holcomb, "Marriage & Death Notices from The Southern Christian Advocate, 1837-1860," Southern Historical Press, 1979, p. 572. - Sarah
