    From Ashe Co. Heritage book, page 164, the information: Family lived in Grassy Creek community in Grayson Co. In 1850 family farm was 50 improved and 40 unimproved acres valued at $720. Had $10 worth of farm implements, 6 horses, 12 milk cows, 2 oxen, 25 other cattle, 50 sheep and 13 swine, livestock valued at $541. The land produced 50 bu of wheat, 50 bu of rye, 250 bu of corn, 250 bu of oats, 100 lbs of wool, 100 lbs of butter, 16 tons of hay. Home manufactures were valued at $40 and agricultural production valued at $75.Samuel is buried in the fam. cem.
