Ryley Moore, Sarah Holland August 16, 1726 Jacob Henderson son of William Moore William Moore Born May 15, 1727

[William MOORE and Rachel (----) Family] I feel certain is the son of Mary Ffalkner & ?, step-son of Hugh Riley. All were apparently baptized, christened or recorded ??? all at the same time because they are listed all together, consecutively, pp. 299, 300. No marriage record in this parish Register for Wm & Rachel.
    1. Ann daughter of William Moor & Rachel his wife was born the 12th of July 1700"
    2. (twin) "John son of the sd William & Rachel Moor was born the 8th of Feby 1702/3" =
    3. (twin) "Ryley son of the sd William & Rachel Moor was born the 8th of Feby 1702/3" =
    4. "Samuel son of the sd William & Rachel Moor was born the 10th of Feby 1704/5"
    5. "William son of the sd William & Rachel Moor was born the 10th of April 1707."
    6. "Rachell daughter of the sd William & Rachel was born the 18th of May 1710"
    7. "George son of the sd William & Rachel was born the 16th of 7ber 1712" [Think the calendar started in March then so this would be September].

Child No. 3 went to the Shenandoah Valley per Karen McClain and the Quaker book from which she quoted. p. 310 Queen Anne Parish Register: "William son of Ryley Moor & Sarah his wife was born the 15th of May 1727" SEE NOTE TO SUSAN "REILEY MOORE" IN THE VIRGINIA MILITIA. I don't know where the other children went. Perhaps that Quaker books deals with Reiley [Ryley, Riley]'s siblings. . William and John could have gone to Frederick Co, but I have no data to separate out the John MOORE's there, except when John MOORE is attached to Ezekiel MOORE--then I know they were sons of my George MOORE. Watch for Note No. 2 for the John Moor [MOORE] family listed also in Queen Anne Parish Register

There seems to be a strong connection between James MOORE and William MOORE; it has been suggested that perhaps William might have been a nephew. William was the son of Mary MOORE Ffalkner and perhaps a John MOORE who had come earlier. Mary we guess was widowed twice. This John is mentioned in land records. I found both two families in the birth records of the Index to Queen Anne Parish (Saint Barnabas Church). I'll try to post those tomorrow night. They are John Moor who married Elizabeth Danielson on Nov 7, 1706. Their sixth child is Mordecai Moor b. 17 Dec 1722. This is probably the one referred to in these land documents. I wonder if this John Moor and William might have been brothers..... Both had first sons named John Moor -- no JAMES MOOR'S. Back to William. His mother Mary MOORE Ffalkner married Hugh Riley, circa 1699 when she begins appearing on documents with Hugh. Hugh was a wealthy landowner & carpenter, like James MOORE. I believe William became one also. William and Rachel had twin sons b. 8 Feb 1702/3 who were named John Moor and Ryley MOORE. The William MOORE who signed deeds, etc. with a volkswagon type symbol, was the son of Mary MOORE Ffalkner. Per Dr. James R. MOORE, MOORE researcher: "William MOORE appears to have had close land ties with James MOORE sen, George MOORE [son of James Sr] and James MOORE Jun [son of James Sr], and he too became a carpenter like James Sen and so many other Moores southern Maryland. Little is know of William's life. He seems to have been accepted early into society. A William MOORE served as a juror with James MOORE 1697 [Court Records of Prince George's County, Maryland (1696-99) 1964. Joseph H. Smith and Philip Crow]. William's first wife was named Rachell [shown on land records], but by 1718 he had a second wife named Mary. William witnessed some of his step-father's (Hugh Riley) land purchases and probably fit with Hugh Riley's activities, as Hugh was a carpenter as well. William bought his "Prosperity 300 acres 1719, and hopefully, as its name implies, he was doing well. William is easily identified by his Volkswagen emblem-like mark on documents." Karen

George MOORE & Elizabeth Lucas's first 2 children & several cousins of the Lucas's, Spriggs, & Prathers; William Moor's family, and a John Moor & wife Elizabeth. I don't know who this John Moor is, but he had lots of kids--a contemporary of William Moor (MOORE) in 1st 15 years of 1700's. WILLIAM MOORE [MOOR] whose first wife was Rachel (-----)his second wife was named MARY (-----). She wrote that "by 1718 he had a second wife named Mary." I'm not sure I have that page of footnotes with the source. Could this be your Mary Page? Wm's 7th child by wife Rachel was born, p. 290 in Saint Barnabas Records: "George son of the sd William & Rachel > [Moor] was born the 16th of 7ber 1712" in the pages Don sent. This was the 2nd consecutive listing. 1st listing gave the name William Moor in full. Is this any help? 3) Re "the connection I mentioned under the "MOORE Edgecombe Co" note WAS ONLY IN REFERENCE TO RUTH MOORE and the supposed link to Richard and Jane MOORE
