Note: Moses and Magadine Turping had 7 children but I can only find 6. Could the missing child be son? That is question.
The father of Henry Martin was most likely Solomon Turpin. There are three records in Pulaski County, KY that relate to this. #1 is from the Court Order Book #1 dated 28 Oct 1806. It is a court case (later dismissed) in which Solomon Turpin sues Moses Martin & wife for assault and battery [could this be a reaction to a pregnant daughter?] #2 is also from the Court Order Book #1 and simply dated July term 1810. Aley Martin is suing Solomon Turpin and the court recorder lists the case as 'in case'. Nothing more is stated about the case [could this be a mother trying to get financial help from the father?] #3 is an indenture of Henry Martin (alias Turpin) [this cries out 'child born out of wedlock'] to Magadaline Turpin [the mother of Solomon Tupin] until he reaches the age of 21. This record is found in deed book #3 of Pulaski County and is dated 23 Jun 1817. This document also clearly states that Aley Hansford late Aley Martin is deceased.
