    EDEN - Robert Lee Carter, 97, of 508 Prospect St. died Thursday at Morehead
    Memorial Hospital.

    Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Leaksville Christian Church, of which
    he was a member. Burial will be in Lawson Cemetery.

    A native of Rockingham County, he was a retired employee of Fieldcrest Mills
    and an Army veteran of World War I.

    Surviving are daughters, Mrs. Frances Jones, Mrs. Betty Lawson, both of
    Eden, Mrs. Doris Stover of Virginia Beach, Va.; sons, Robert Fulton Carter
    of Indianapolis, Ind., Jimmy Ray Carter of Eden; sisters, Mrs. Janie Smith
    of Graham, Mrs. Patty Smith, Mrs. Ann Davis, Mrs. Daisy Cooke, all of Eden,
    Mrs. Lillian Soots of Kernersville; brothers, Clyde Carter, Howard Carter,
    both of Eden; 22 grandchildren.

    The family will be at Fair Funeral Home 7-9 p.m. today.

    Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Rockingham County.
